At Mindara Modern Psychiatry, our mission is to relieve the mental burdens that keep people from fully living. We help our patients find clarity, stability, and relief—so that life no longer feels like a daily struggle, but something they can move through with peace, presence, and connection.
Our goal is simple: to help you feel like yourself.

Dr. Yasleny Baker is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and the founder of Mindara Modern Psychiatry. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rush University in Chicago and has provided outpatient psychiatric care since 2017.
My Approach to Care
I believe the best psychiatric care is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in real connection. My goal is to help you feel understood — not rushed — while providing clear guidance and treatment that makes sense for your life.
Each visit blends expert medication management with supportive, meaningful conversation so you can build clarity, stability, and long-term progress.
I offer care in both English and Spanish.
Professional Background
My clinical experience spans:
• Outpatient psychiatry for adults
• Inpatient psychiatric units
• Primary care mental health
• Community and shelter-based services
I began my career in 2010 and have worked as an LPN, case manager, RN, and now psychiatric nurse practitioner. These diverse roles allow me to bring both clinical expertise and genuine human understanding to patient care.
Why I Founded Mindara
I founded Mindara to offer a modern, bilingual psychiatric experience where adults receive personalized care without long waits or generic treatment plans. Every visit is purposeful and every recommendation is tailored to you.

Why Mindara?
At Mindara Modern Psychiatry, the name reflects the values behind the psychiatric care we provide.

Mind represents clarity and evidence-based mental health treatment.

Ara, drawn from its historical meaning as a place of reflection, symbolizes a safe space for pause, insight, and transformation in psychiatric care.
Together, Mindara represents a modern psychiatric practice built on presence, intention, and personal connection.
